Cantaloupe Seed Recipes

You may not have known that you can actually roast and eat cantaloupe seeds. Well now you do! This post outlines the basic steps to roasting the seeds and then offers 3 different spice recipes for the seeds.

  1. Separate the seeds from the melon remains. Once they are mostly separated, use a colander to wash the seeds and then place on a towel and pat dry.
  2. Preheat the oven to 300 degrees and line a baking sheet with parchment paper. For every half cup of cantaloupe seeds, toss them with a teaspoon of olive oil and one spice recipe (see below).
  3. Spread the seeds in a thin layer on the lined baking sheet and cook them for 20-30 minutes. Check the progress at 10 minutes.
