I couldn’t be more proud to announce that we were recently added to the organicfarmfood.org website! Seeing our business included on such a great platform alongside other exceptional local organic producers is an incredibly exciting milestone.
For our blog readers who aren’t familiar with The Greensted, we are a microgreen farmer right here in SE Minnesota, specializing in 16 varieties of microgreens and our signature “Wacky Salad” mix. As the only Good Agricultural Practices (GAP) certified microgreen farm in the state, we set high standards when it comes to food safety and quality assurance. Beyond microgreens, we also offer seasonal garden produce through CSA shares to our community.
In addition to the farming operation, The Greensted has an on-site farm retail store stocked entirely with goods from over 50 regional food producers and artisans. This allows our customers to directly support dozens of local, sustainable businesses all in one shopping trip when they come to the farm. You can also follow us at @thegreensted on social media to keep up with what’s growing!
The organicfarmfood.org website is dedicated to showcasing ethical, sustainable organic farms across the United States and Canada. Their goal is to connect consumers with small-scale local producers in their region that meet rigorous standards for organic practices. From vegetable operations to orchards, livestock farms to apiaries, organicfarmfood.org wants to promote and assist the growth of responsible food systems across North America. I’m honored that our microgreens will be listed among so many outstanding ethical growers who are featured on the site.
As a proud member of the local food community, I could not be more excited to have The Greensted representing our region on this platform alongside so many other incredible farms. Let’s all do our part to spread the word about The Greensted and this exceptional new opportunity to reach more customers! I’m so grateful for the chance to share our hyper-local microgreens with even more people passionate about organic food.
